We will begin the event with a mini memory hackathon which revolves around the history of Pixelache Helsinki and VJ culture.

We will continue the event with the main streaming event with Vishnu Vardhani Rajan's No-Performance-Performance and Kari Yli-Annala's  VJing all the way through the history.

Vishnu Vardhani Rajan - Body Philosopher has been part of Pixelache since December 2017. In 2019 Vishnu was one of the four Art-Directors of the Breaking the 5th Wall Pixelache Helsinki festival.

In the light of the recent ‘Call for Action for Art Institutions in Finland’ initiative and the collective work we have been doing as members of Pixelache, an important project surfaced, namely ’The support, responsibility and engagement of Fund Providing Institutions’.

Vishnu’s Non-Performance-performance will activate with the question ‘Why is it a long drawn administrative procedure if we would like to add changes to our initial associations working rule books?

>|<  Kari Yli-Annala >|< VJing all the way through the history

Contemporary explorations of proto-cinematic practices prove that there has been a live sound and moving image in collective rituals ever since it has been possible. In their performative lecture, Kari Yli-Annala will talk of practices which have combined "live" and recorded material using camera obscura, laterna magica and color organs, including practices of expanded cinema and lettrist's syncinema and supertemporal cinema.
