Warmly welcome to Persona, the first event from Dunya, which will take place at Alimus on Friday November 22nd 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Persona reflects on the ways marginalized individuals and communities often craft personas as protective masks to navigate hostile environments, societal expectations and discrimination. Simultaneously, can moments of self-expression and masks unveiling challenge dominant narratives and become radical acts of defiance and empowerment? <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Highlighting the interplay between adopting and unveiling personas, the event celebrates the creativity and strength of marginalized communities as they navigate and resist different systems of oppression. The evening will feature music, audiovisual and performing arts program with the participation of young emerging artists from Finland and abroad, such as Kofu, Kaksin, George Rallis, Out of Sync, Maria Metsalu, and Oldyungmayn. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
